Micah Killion, Brass
Micah Killion, trumpet, has a performance degree from the Juilliard School, where he was a student of Phil Smith, and a Masters in Music Education from Teachers College at Columbia University.
As a player, he has performed in a wide variety of ensembles across the world, including the Marlboro Festival Orchestra, The Knights Orchestra, Talea Ensemble, The Colorado Symphony, The American Russian Young Artists Orchestra, City Music Cleveland, New Jersey Symphony, The Spoleto Festival Orchestra, Shakira, The Airmen of Note, Diana Ross, Father John Misty, Miike Snow, Walt Disney World’s Christmas Brass, as well as a number of Broadway pit orchestras.
As a teacher, Micah has held faculty positions at Kinhaven Music School, The Juilliard Music Advancement Program, Mannes Prep, and the Third Street Music School. He has also given master classes and led workshops at a number of colleges and universities, including The University of Florida, Florida State University, Montclair State University, Utah State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, CUNY City College, Duke University, and the University of Michigan.
Micah is currently a trumpet player with the United States Air Force Concert Band, and is a Shires trumpet artist.
