Originally from West Texas, Ms. Devree Lewis now enjoys teaching and
performing throughout the D.C. Metro area.
Recently, Ms. Lewis performed as soloist with the Pan American Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center and various venues in Lima, Peru, as well as the prestigious Al Bustan Music Festival in Beirut, Lebanon. A member of Chesapeake Strings, she also performs with the rock cello group Primitivity.
Ms. Lewis received her masters degree in music performance from University of Maryland. In addition to performing, Ms. Lewis teaches both private cello and piano lessons; her students range from beginning to advanced levels and from ages 4 to adult. She uses various teaching methods and doctrines (Suzuki, etc.) in order to focus on the individual growth of each student.
