Chase Ward, Violin and Piano
With Washington D.C. as home base, Chase Ward performs throughout the United States as a regular guest violinist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and previously with the St. Louis Symphony. During summers, Chase is also a section violinist at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music in Santa Cruz, California, and the Lakes Area Music Festival in Brainerd, Minnesota. He has toured and performed with musicians including Josh Groban and Seal, and frequently performs Candlelight Concerts across the country. Other experience includes section violin positions in the Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Flint Symphony Orchestras.
A graduate of the University of Michigan's Doctor of Musical Arts program, Chase has served on the faculties of the Flint Institute of Music and the Sphinx Organization's Overture Program, and has also coached chamber music and sectionals through the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Civic Youth Ensembles. Several of Chase’s private students have been admitted into undergraduate performance
and technology programs at the University of Michigan, Eastman School of Music, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Michigan State University, and the University of Miami Frost School of Music. Other student accomplishments include attendance at Interlochen Arts Camp, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and wins at regional and college concerto competitions.
Highlights from Chase’s recent performance engagements include recording the Grammy-nominated album “Sila: The Breath of the World”, as well as performances with Carnatic violinist Apoorva Krishna, the National Arab Orchestra, Mariachi Orgullo de América, and the Catalyst and Calidore Quartets.
Chase owes much thanks to his primary teachers: David Halen, Fabiola Kim, Caroline Coade, Hal Grossman, and Gregory Lee, all of whom were integral to his musical formation.
