Daria Park, piano
Daria Park has been involved in music since the age of five when she first started taking piano lessons. Throughout the years she has competed in and won UCF Performance Excellence Award, Steinway/FGCU Piano Competition, Young Artist Awards, Calusa Musicale Clara Blood Scholarship, competitions of Federation of Music Clubs, and many more. Daria was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Central Florida to study piano with Dr. Yun-Ling Hsu and graduated in May 2018 with a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance. At “UCF Piano Day” master classes Daria has performed for the internationally-known guest pianists Andre Laplante (Canada), Oleg Poliansky (Ukraine/Germany), and Inke Kesseler (Denmark). Daria was also a winner in the UCF Concerto Competition in 2015 and toured with the UCF Symphony Orchestra in 2016 in Central Florida.
Daria studied under the esteemed Maggie Francis at The Hartt School, earning her Masters degree in piano performance with an emphasis in pedagogy in May 2020. Through her studies and many years of teaching piano, Daria has gained experience and a passion for classical music that she loves sharing with her students. In recent years, she has developed a strong interest in early childhood education and believes creating a fun, safe, and encouraging environment is the best way to foster a love for music from a young age. Daria encourages her students to perform as much as possible to instill the importance of sharing music with others and showcasing all the hard work done in their lessons. New to the DMV area, she is excited to pursue a career filled with teaching and performing, hoping to fully immerse herself in the local music scene.
When she is not playing or teaching piano, Daria enjoys traveling with her family, perfecting her shaken espresso recipe, watching F1 races, and trying different local restaurants with her friends.
