Sean Mahon, Piano
Sean Mahon is a highly accomplished pianist, composer, and music educator, with an extensive career rooted in the DMV. With over two decades of experience, Sean has mastered a diverse range of musical styles, from classical and jazz, to tango, rock, and contemporary music.
Sean earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Maryland, where he studied under the distinguished mentors Dr. Cleveland Page, Santiago Rodriguez, and the legendary André Watts. His academic excellence was recognized through numerous accolades, including winning the prestigious Homer Ulrich Piano Competition, being a finalist in the UMSO Concerto Competition, and receiving the coveted Music Director’s Scholarship Award.
As a performer, Sean's talent has taken him to prominent stages across the United States and the world. He has graced the White House, performing for First Lady Michelle Obama, performed as featured soloist at The Kennedy Center and Wolftrap, as a musical opener at Madison Square Gardens, and as a keyboardist/guitarist with touring acts in major festivals around the country. He is currently the principal pianist for the Pan American Symphony Orchestra and musical director for several prominent DC event bands.
